3rd Street Dance & Theater Academy keeps dignity in dancing. My daughter has danced at 3rd Street for over seven years and grown in her capacity of dance and in her enjoyment of it. As a mother I have been thankful for the way the studio has kept the dances beautiful yet not sensuous for our young kids.
3rd Street Dance is an outstanding dance studio. I grew up dancing here and loved it. Now, I even work here and I still feel the same love and passion as I did when I was younger. As a long time member of the studio, I am friends with the owner and her daughters Caroline and Ada.
This review is long overdue. My daughter has been dancing here for a decade now and this studio has become her dance home. She has grown and learned so much by being a part of this amazing community. Ms. Alice is an inspiration to our whole family. If you are considering giving them a try, I highly recommend it.
3rd Street Dance and Theatre Academy develops technique and teaches life lessons. My daughter has learned from her teachers how a positive mindset can contribute to being a successful dancer. 3rd Street gives dancers opportunities to learn how to work as a team, show kindness, and serve the community.
Your first ballet class at 3rd Street Dance & Theatre Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
