My daughters started classes this summer at Academy of Dance, and we love it! Ms. Bekah and Ms. Melinda are amazing instructors!! The studio has a live feed to the lobby where parents can see their kids in class the entire time. The studio, bathroom, and lobby are always very clean.
Academy of Dance is a fantastic place for dancers looking to join a dance community. The staff are talented and attentive to students needs. Since joining, our dancers have learned many dance positions/moves, as well as many more life skills. The community of dancers and staff are both positive and encouraging.
We love Academy of Dance! My little has been at this studio for over a year and she’s always talking about dance class. The environment is fun and positive and they keep the kids engaged. I love watching my daughter’s confidence and personality grow in class. Ms.
Our girls have been attending their hip hop dance with Mrs. Becca and Ms. Paige. They absolutely love it there! They are always friendly and make it so fun for them! I go in knowing that they are having fun and also learning new dance moves.
Your first ballet class at Academy of Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
