From the reviews
We really enjoyed The Long Way Home performance that we saw. The theater is very nice and the seats are comfy. Parking was easy, although we went to a dress rehearsal so it was earlier in the day. Lots of great restaurants around the theater too! Made for a great afternoon and the Billings Symphony was really great.
Maestro Anne Harrigan's last regular season performance with vibrant soloists, robust choral, and the amazing Billings Symphony of Verdi's Requim was stunning. The response was an awed standing ovation, and it took many moments to emerge from the experience and begin the cheers and vigorous applause.
As a Billings native, I am so proud of our ABT! Beautiful, classy, & historic theater. From the main floor to the balcony, every seat in the house has a good view of the stage. While Amy Grant was performing at ABT, she made a comment about the amazing acoustics!
I called to ask if there was going to be an opener for Daniel Tosh. I had a babysitter and wanted to make sure it wasn’t going to go too late. The man I talked to on the phone was so extremely helpful and nice. We went to the show and everyone working was so nice to us.
Your first ballet class at Alberta Bair Theater
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
