From the reviews
We love the Anchorage Ballet. My daughter has loved learning different techniques. The instructors are wonderful with the kids. My daughter can't figure out who is her favorite. Walking into the studio you always feel welcomed. The staff makes you feel like family. We love the family environment they have created!
The Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy is an excellent organization with top-notch instructors. Our dancers have attended the school for several years, participating in recitals, the Nutcracker, and other performances and have had nothing but a great experience with wonderful professionals.
My niece and nephew both take dance at this studio and absolutely love it! They have a wonderful instructor that breaks down the moves and even goes into the history of their dance genre. Anchorage Ballet has an attentive staff and a group of great dancers that truly love what they do.
We LOVE ACBA! My daughter has been attending this school since she was 3, she’s about to turn 7! My daughter has a little bit of a speech delay and they’ve always been amazing with her and she’s always excited to go. She started with Bitty Bear Ballet and now takes Pre-ballet and Hop&Pop! Highly recommend.
Your first ballet class at Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
