“Damian is an amazing instructor.”
“Much appreciated for beginners who don’t really know what they’re doing.”
“The instructors are kind, patient, and explain everything clearly so we actually understand what we’re doing.”
“And though we had danced on stage together as partners (Kismet), we had never trained in "hold" or "frame" in this form of partnered dancing.”
“He creates a supportive, confidence-building environment that makes learning both effective and enjoyable.”
From the reviews
My husband and I are taking dance lessons for our daughter's wedding in August and chose Arthur Murray to begin our journey. We wanted to learn basic dance steps to feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Damian, the owner, has been so kind and patient.
AMDS-Toledo's Dance Director, Damien Sanderson is my former ballroom dance instructor, whom we. first met when my husband gifted me with dance lessons several years ago.
I had the pleasure of working with Damian for a couple of years, and I can confidently say he is an exceptional dance instructor. He is not only highly knowledgeable, but also incredibly creative, with a real talent for matching choreography to each student’s skill level to produce polished, high-caliber performances.
It was on my bucket list to take ballroom dancing lessons after I retired. As luck would have it there was an Arthur Murray studio within 5 miles of my home. Damian was my instructor for my free trial lesson. The lesson was so enjoyable that I ended up taking lessons for seven years.
Your first ballet class at Arthur Murray Dance Studio Toledo
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
