From the reviews
I began as a student in 1995, so Ballet Abilene and Abilene Ballet Theatre are like a second home to me. I am thrilled to continue to be a part of the studio and the company now as an adult! Mrs. Nancy and Ms. Lisa have created and cultivated an environment of excellence and integrity.
We have been with Ballet Abilene 2 years and love it. My daughter does both ballet and jazz. It is a great balance of professional dancing and performing and fun. The Nutcracker is a crazy week, but it is such a unique and special experience. I know my daughter will always remember being a part of it. We love Mrs.
Ballet Abilene is a fantastic dance school! I have danced here since I was two years old and have made many memories performing in the Spring Showcase and Spring Recital. I am now a part of the ballet company and have had the pleasure of participating in The Nutcracker each year.
I have been dancing here for as long as i can remember and we have some very talented teachers here. I just adore Mrs. Nancy and Ms. Lisa, they know how to take care of their dancers and I just love them so so much.
Your first ballet class at Ballet Abilene
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
