I'm so happy I found this place! I took my (3 year old) daughter to her first class. It takes her time to warm up, and she freaked out during the class and we ended up leaving. I emailed Lydia, asking if we could come back and just observe the class. We went to Mrs.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Ballet Adora. When my daughter wanted to start dance, my husband actually picked this place because he knew the owner’s grandfather. He said they do not come any better than that family. He was so right.
I cannot sing enough praises about the Ballet Adora staff. Miss Abigail, Miss Lydia, and the entire staff is amazing! We found them in 2023 and my daughter LOVED their Summer dance camp. Each day was so fun and well organized- the same wonderful experience for Summer dance camp in 2024.
We have absolutely loved our experience with Ballet Adora! My five-year-old daughter has adored both of her teachers thus far ( Miss Abigail and Miss Brooklyn)— She sings their praises and looks up to them greatly.
Your first ballet class at Ballet Adora
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
