From the reviews
We have been attending ballet performances for Ballet Arts for several years. We most recently went to the Nutcracker. We saw the same quality performance we've come to expect and enjoy. I know from experience how much work goes onto a production like this, and again, it was wonderful.
My daughter and I took my granddaughter to see the Nutcracker this year in Jackson. I have loved the Nutcracker for many years and passed that love for it onto my daughter.
Ballet Arts continues to shine under its new leadership while honoring the time-honored traditions that have made it so special over the years. The recent Nutcracker production was a beautiful reminder of the artistry, dedication, and heart behind this organization.
I have enjoyed all 8 years of the Nutcracker with Ballet Arts! I’ve helped with the children who have come on the Friday shows. I have watched my granddaughter in each performance and always a different character. Not just one character. Sometimes the girls get to dance multiple times!
Your first ballet class at Ballet Arts
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
