The training and expertise of the ballet teachers and programs are DEFINITELY world-class!!! I would give the venue 4.5 stars simply because they needed a bigger waiting area but all else, definitely a 5! I super like how my daughter speaks glowingly about what she learns every single session and practices.
Have been attending adult classes for several years now. The instructors are great, and always willing to help modify exercises for those who need to do so. . Students in the class are at different levels of experience and ability, but the atmosphere is one of encouragement, not competition.
Very nice Ballet studio, the light blue theme color and wooden barres are lovely. The staff and students are really nice. They made me feel very welcome. They have 3 studios. One is big. It’s very clean.
By far the BEST ballet studio in Houston. I drove an hour from home just to come here because the quality here is that good. I started dancing ballet at 23 and was able to continue my growth at this amazing studio and start pre-pointe work (a dream come true for me!!).
Your first ballet class at Ballet Center of Houston
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
