From the reviews
My son has been part of this group since it started. He fell in love with both dancing and this group from day one. He wants to be the first one at practice and the last one to leave.
My sister loves to dance. This studio has given so many wonderful recitals and exhibitions. Liz has taught her so many new things that are on our dad's side of the family. Liz and David are bringing my sisters new found love of the Mexican culture to life for her.
I highly recommend this dance studio. They do such a good job of promoting teamwork and have such a positive and supportive atmosphere. This truly makes a difference to a child’s confidence, and willingness to learn for the first time. The group culture they have created is inclusive and fun.
My kid has been a part of this group for a while now. The instructors are incredibly skilled dancers and even better teachers. The other parents and kids are friendly and welcoming. I love to see my daughter perform in her beautiful cultural outfit.
Your first ballet class at Ballet Folklorico Mi Alegria
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
