From the reviews
Saw a performance of the Nutcracker Act II tonight at the studio. The girls were all beautiful and talented dancers and the choreography was very nice. The only bad part was the size of the stage. It was so small and it really didn't do the girls any justice.
Ballet Long Island is AMAZING! My daughters have been dancing here for years. The staff is polite and professional and my children think of this place as a second home! During this time of COVID 19, they have taken so many extra measures to ensure our children are safe and still receive amazing dance instruction.
My girls love it here they look forward to there classes every Saturday and I’m so grateful for all the class options that they had something that worked for me and my schedule, Ms. Debbie is very kind and caring and you can tell she loves what she does and the teachers are wonderful Ms.
I had a really good time here. I tried out both intermediate classes and beginners classes to see where I’d fit best and everyone there was very welcoming and supportive. I also bought ballet shoes there and they feel great, not a bad price either.
Your first ballet class at Ballet Long Island
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
