I have been dancing at Barfield school of dance since I was 2 years old and I absolutely love it. Those girls and teachers have become family to me. The teachers make all the classes fun for all of their students. Barfield school of dance also strives to make us not only better dancers but also good humans.
Love, love, love how my daughter has grown here and the beautiful friendships she has made with her team and instructors! They push her to excel and truly care about her growth as a respectful young lady and dancer. I always recommend BSD to anyone looking for a great studio for their young dancers!
Love love love Barfield and the staff. Couldn't ask for a better place to dance. The environment is completely family friendly, and honestly I couldn't think of dancing anywhere else. This will be my ninth year with them, and I am very pleased with the services that they have provided/are providing.
Barfield has been great for my daughter. She's been dancing there for 10+ years. They're amazing people. Teaching my daughter phenomenal technique, amazing choreography, holding her accountable. And as a dance dad, I'm thankful they eliminate problems when they arise.
Your first ballet class at Barfield School of Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
