I can not express how grateful we are to have found Be the Light. For several years prior we were involved with a dance facility that was not very professional, and recitals were a bit over the top. So we decided to take a break but my daughter could not stay away from dancing.
Absolutely the very best dance studio in Jacksonville. Haylee is an amazing instructor. My daughter has been with them 2 years and my oldest daughter is joining in the fall. Friendly atmosphere with women who dedicate and show devotion to our lord and savior. They teach more than just dance. They teach the word.
I cant say enough good things about this studio and highly recommend for all little girls. Fun, age appropriate, and ms nesia, the owner is the best. Christian based. I am always confident that my girls are in good hands with the teachers.
We Love Be the Light Dance Studio, Mrs Nesia is wonderful and it great to have a Christian atmosphere.
Your first ballet class at Be The Light Music & Dance Company
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
