From the reviews
As a professional dancer who spends a lot of time on national tours, Broadway Dance Center is always my go to spot when I’m back home in the city. I love taking the walk in classes here. That flexibility is everything when you have a constantly changing schedule. The energy in the studio is always fun and inspiring.
This Company gets it. The classes are organized and easy to book online and when you arrive, you are directed to the studio accordingly. Ive come here a few times and each time everything is very seamless and the classes were fun.
Every time I come to NYC (from 18 to 36 years old) I take a mix of classes here and remember why I love dancing. All the teachers I’ve taken from are great but Jason Wise’s class is one of my favs! He’s a phenomenal teacher and creates a safe/playful environment to just have fun. Bravo
This studio is AWESOME! I reached out to them because my 12 year old daughter really wanted to take a dance class while we were in NYC. The staff responded immediately and were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Your first ballet class at Broadway Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
