From the reviews
I am very impressed with the wonderful way dancers are accepted, taught and cared for at this studio. My son has been dancing since he was 8, and is now a Senior in HS. He plans on dance as a career, and really wanted more ballet technique.
My daughter has been dancing since she was 3. CMB was her second dance school as she aged out of her first. We love the staff and atmosphere of the school. My daughter is small for her age and she has gained so much from dance both physically and mentally. She has great muscle tone and flexibility and is quite strong.
I danced professionally and now my daughter loves dancing too! The classes at CMB are challenging, educational, technical, and so positive. It’s a great environment for serious dancers who want to go professional, have fun, make friends in the arts and that’s why I signed my 9 year old daughter up for this…
Our daughter loved her time and training at Central Midwest Ballet. Extremely hard working, dedicated and talented instructors. Amazing each year to see how much our dancer grew and improved.
Your first ballet class at Central Midwest Ballet Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
