From the reviews
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time dancing with CCB. I performed in several of their Nutcrackers as well as Spring performances and still seem to go back every year to watch. Coast City Ballet shaped me as a dancer, and I will always appreciate what I've learned there, physically and mentally.
I attended Pacific Dance Center (now Coast City Ballet) for 10 years and the studio was like a second home to me. All of the staff, director, and dancers were so loving and they became my dance family! The performances were always amazing from the costumes to the choreography.
My daughter has been dancing here for almost 7 years. We love the individualized attention that the teachers are able to give each dancer and the friendships that she has made with other dancers. The benefits of dancing in a smaller studio have kept us coming back year after year.
CCB is one of the best/family oriented dance studios I have ever danced at! The director is amazing and very knowledgeable. She takes the time to demonstrate and explain things. Nutcracker is always my favorite time of year!
Your first ballet class at Coast City Ballet
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
