Ivan was an incredible dance instructor! He worked with my husband and I as we attempted to learn the Foxtrot and Rumba before our wedding in February 2022. He helped us come up with a choreographed first dance the week of our wedding and even met with us outside of normal hours when we wanted a final lesson the day…
We had one month and one week to learn how to dance for our wedding. We both have never had any experience dancing before. The whole team, Carol, Bryan, and Ivan, all helped us get more than ready! Our dance looks so good! We hope to come back for fun later on. Highly recommend!
Ivan and Victor are the best! We came in before our wedding with a song choice and we walked out about 8 weeks later with a full first dance routine that we love and feel great about. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for dance lessons.
If you’re reading this, just book the class! My fiancé and I have been taking lessons with Ivan since February. What started out as a date night we found on Groupon, turned into a creative/active hobby we absolutely love! Ivan has truly helped us learn to dance for life rather than just learning a routine.
Your first ballet class at Dance Passion
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
