From the reviews
My daughter has attended Dance Workshop by Shari since 1st grade, she is currently a sophomore. Each year her technique and movement improves. All of the instructors are supportive and encouraging and make dance a fun place to go. They are dedicated to our dancers and want them all to succeed on their dance journey.
This is my daughters second year dancing at Dance Workshop. She has learned so much from their talented professional teachers! Besides a high level of dancing there is also a beautiful contribute to help others and raise money for charities like St. Judes and Children’s hospital.
I can't say enough positive things about this studio. I have two daughters currently enrolled (I believe this is our 9th year). The instructors truly care about the students. They not only help them become beautiful dancers, but they care about the people they are outside of dance.
I enrolled my oldest daughter in Miss Shari’s “Mommy and Me” about 8 years ago. Now, I have 3 daughters all enrolled in programs at Miss Shari’s. Their ages are 4, 7 & 10. They take a variety of classes including gymnastics, tap, ballet and hip hop.
Your first ballet class at Dance Workshop
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
