The programs they offer
“As an adult dancer just returning after a long time away, it's easy to feel like you're considered lesser than the younger kids, but I felt just as valued as any other customer.”
“A good selection of shoes, apparel and accessories in store, so if you're looking for something dance related, stop in or call Dancer's Pointe.”
“She also carries more dancewear and shoes for boys/young men than any other store in the region - so if you have a male dancer visit Dancer's Pointe!”
What families & students say
“She is kind, considerate, encouraging to all dancers, and does her best to fit every foot that comes into her store.”
From the reviews
My experience here was wonderful! I’ll be taking my first ever dance class at 26 years old—something I’ve always wanted to do but never taken the opportunity, until now. Steve and Kathy were amazing and so incredibly nice. Steve helped me find the perfect jazz shoes to start out with. I will definitely be coming back.
We have been going to Dancer's Pointe for 20 years. Kathy at Dancer's Pointe always gives the best service, hands down. She is kind, considerate, encouraging to all dancers, and does her best to fit every foot that comes into her store.
Wow! What an exceptional and beautiful experience at Dancer's Pointe! We live in Temperance Michigan and had been using another shop for years that closed. We didn't know where else to go and needed a last minute, one time fitting.
When I entered the store, the place was packed. I had three other customers in front of me and more people that followed. The lady working informed us that she would be with us as soon as she can. While checking someone out she had a phone call and answered their question while looking for shoes for the next customer.
Your first ballet class at Dancer's Pointe
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
