I can’t say enough positive things about Danceworks. My daughters have both been dancing there since pre-school, and my oldest will soon be starting her 11th year of classes.
Danceworks is an amazing non-competitive, yet challenging dance school to meet your child's individual needs. It is a family friendly environment that allows your child to make friends, that eventually become family, and learn proper dance techniques while having fun.
There are no words to describe how I feel about Danceworks. Just 3 days before her very first recital that she worked so hard toward, my young daughter tested positive for Covid. We were heartbroken because we knew that meant she would not be able to perform in her recital as planned.
My daughters have been a part of this family for 9 years and have adored every minute. This is quality dance instruction in a kind and loving environment. The love of dance and confidence grown in such a nurturing setting cannot be matched.
Your first ballet class at Danceworks
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
