From the reviews
Dancing for Joy is our dance family. Both my daughters are thriving at this studio. Both feel so loved by every teacher. Ms. April, the owner, makes it feel like a home away from home. It is so wholesome and I never have to worry about costumes and dance moves.
We love Dancing for Joy! The teachers are amazing and truly care about the dancers. My daughter has grown so much in her skills and ability with them and loves going to class. They are affordable and offer great value. We have been going there for 7 years and will keep going.
Dancing for Joy, Coach April and the Staff are very loving and caring. They are very skilled in teaching the students age appropriate skills. I feel the program they provide is very rich, full of quality and I love the interaction.
My daughter loves her class with Miss April. It is a fun and safe atmosphere. She enjoys the trapeze class, but is a bit shy to perform for others. We are thankful for the friendships she has formed and the joy each class brings our family.
Your first ballet class at Dancing for Joy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
