I started dancing with Ellie as a beginner just a few years ago and now I'm dancing backup for Mariah Carey! JK... Obviously I've aged myself and here to let you know that you too can start dancing with Ellie and her team of very skilled and experienced dance teachers at any age!
Ellie is one of those hidden gems! My daughter has been in her mini ballerina dance class for only a few months and has learned so many skills. Ellie is so patient and kind with the children (and the parents). They even had a recital at the high school with nearly 40 different performances.
My daughters take dance with Ellie and we couldn’t be more impressed with a dance studio. Ellie is not only an incredibly talented dancer herself, but she shows that she cares for each student individually and wants to build their confidence and success as a dancer and as an individual.
Such an amazing dance studio! My daughter and I have been taught by Ellie for over 4 years now and we have both improved SO much! It is always so much fun! They are so accepting of any level of dance experience and work with you when you need extra help or need help to understand choreography.
Your first ballet class at Ellie Dance Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
