My daughter has been at Expressions since 2019 when she started as a 3 year old in their mini-mover class. We absolutely love this studio and they make every dancer that walks in the door feel welcomed and loved. Her growth every year has been tremendous.
My daughter started dance classes here at age 4 and now at nearly 9 she would spend all her free time here if she could. She loves the other dancers and the teachers so much and has benefited greatly from her time at Expressions. The studio is very professional while also maintaining a homey, friendly atmosphere.
We have absolutely loved EDT! They do an incredible job with their dancers, developing them into incredible dancers and individuals. They truly care about their dancers and put their whole heart into fostering their dancers from toddlers to seniors. The performance they put on in their recitals is incredible!
Your first ballet class at Expressions Dance Theatre
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
