From the reviews
We love everything about GADA, the community, the teachers, the love and care that goes into our girls. At the younger ages, it's just about having fun and that's instilled here. Their recitals run like a machine, so organized and a beautiful showcase of how many young dancers this school touches.
As a boy mom I wasn't super excited when a dance school was built right down the street from my house. I turned out to be so wrong, though! My boys have loved taking various classes there throughout the years. They've taken Musical Theater, Creative Movement, Tap, Ballet, and enrolled at various Summer camps.
Our family loves GADA! Everyone is welcoming and friendly, making us feel comfortable and wanted. Ms. Sarah and Ms. Addison were the perfect introduction to dance for our child! At first, we were nervous about how our child would react to going into class without us, but they walked right in from day one.
This was our first year at the studio and we had a great experience! Our daughter loved her dance teacher which of course sets the year up for success. As a parent, I loved the consistent and clear communication especially leading up to recitals as a first time dance parent.
Your first ballet class at Greater Austin Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
