“More importantly, I’ve been pleasantly astonished by the positive, caring and encouraging atmosphere, not just by instructors, by the dancers to each other.”
“They make dancer shine, from the newest little 3-year old on stage for the first time to the experienced teenagers who have been at it for over a decade.”
From the reviews
I’ve had 4 daughter dance in 3 states. All have had good training. This has been the best. I have been so impressed with the quality of training (technique, choreography skills development, etc). Training is more than just learning to dance.
They make dancer shine, from the newest little 3-year old on stage for the first time to the experienced teenagers who have been at it for over a decade. I don't dance ballet. I'm not the parent of a dancer.
Truly Magical!!! The Little Mermaid was an absolute delight! From the stunning choreography to the beautiful music and costumes, every detail was done with care and creativity. The dancers brought the story to life in such a moving, magical way.
There are two dance studios in Idaho Falls focused solely on ballet and we have spent time at both. Our experience with IBT has been amazing and would encourage IBT over the other. There are multiple directors who are all very approachable. The classes are very structured with specific curriculums by age/level.
Your first ballet class at Idaho Ballet Theatre
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
