I needed to find a new studio and was happy to find this studio. They offer adult ballet classes multiple times per week. The studios are clean and organized and have all the necessary equipment. The staff is also friendly. Highly recommend if you are an adult looking for classes.
A great atmosphere and encouraging staff. My daughter has danced at this studio for 3 years now. At only 6 she has learned so much and improves each year she dances there. The staff are always encouraging her in everything she does. The studio has a great family atmosphere.
My children absolutely adore their instructors and look forward to their tap class each week. The fact that my 8-year old "all boy" can't wait to learn the "buffalo" speaks volumes about this studio. I highly recommend Independance for anyone looking to learn the art of dance.
iDance is a WONDERFUL studio with an amazing and a very professional staff. My daughter has thrived and loves Ms Mary and everyone at the the studio. When we were new to Gainesville we quickly made iDance our dance home and were welcomed with open loving arms!!!
Your first ballet class at IndepenDANCE Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
