After 40 years of dance classes & stage performance ( ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop) I know when dance instructors are top level!! I am impressed with Nikki & Meredith as excellent instructors, and how much they care about their students.
My 3 kids just finished their first year of dance (clogging) at JM Studios. They also have ballet, hip hop, tap, tumble, and more. I couldn't recommend this studio more enthusiastically. The teachers are highly qualified AND great at teaching (sometimes you get dance teachers who are one without the other).
My daughter Brenda has been dancing/clogging at JM Studios for many years, and I can’t say enough good things about it. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and truly care about every student. Brenda has grown so much in skill and confidence because of the positive environment they create.
Just took my first dance class here last night (Wednesday, May 27) – and it was AMAZING! Nikki has such a great studio. Her line dance instructor taught a great class, I definitely want to go back. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their dancing skills and get a GREAT workout!
Your first ballet class at JM Studios
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
