I am so happy I decided to sign my child up for Kindermotion ballet and tap lessons. I didn't know what to expect. She had no experience dancing and neither did I. (Honestly, I feared having to be a dance mom, but not anymore!) Ms. Susan was so helpful via email answering all my questions for signing up for class.
Susan Racette/Kinderdance and Fitness of New England provided excellent dance programs for children through our Westport Recreation Department! Susan came very well prepared with her supplies and did a fantastic job of interacting with the children, encouraging them to dance, move and express themselves creatively.

Kindermotion with Ms. Susan is amazing! She is a very talented teacher- she works well with all ages. My preschooler loves her class and looks forward to going to class each week. Ms. Susan is fantastic at teaching young kiddos about dance and movement in a holistic way that includes balance, and body awareness.
Your first ballet class at Kindermotion and Dance of New England
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
