From the reviews
My niece absolutely LOVES working with Mr. Cory! Her time at LAAPA has helped her so much. She is more confident and better able to express herself, and is excited to share all of her new musical knowledge thanks to her beloved Mr. Cory. Thank you, LAAPA and an especially big thank you to Mr. Cory!
Our daughter started classes at this dance academy earlier this year, and we’ve been extremely impressed with the environment and instruction quality so far. The teachers are encouraging while still maintaining structure and discipline during lessons, which creates a great balance for younger students.
Our original teacher was Mr. Daniel who was very friendly and patient with my son. My son had lessons with him for years and he was very encouraging and allowed my son to experiment during the lesson to keep him engaged and having fun. We recently switched to Mr.
This place is an amazing place for my daughter. She loves to go to dance here and is always talking about how she wants to have more classes. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Karrisa. Also there was this one substitute teacher that she had and loved because of his training and professionalism. His name was Mr. Jordan.
Your first ballet class at LAAPA School of Music & Dance - River Ridge
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
