From the reviews
I've been dancing in the Sacramento Area for over 40 years and this is one of the BEST dance studios in town. They are really like a family and have great values and integrity. Miss Alyson is always prepared for class and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we look our very best on performance day.
Excellent ballet training with ballet teachers who instill a love for classical ballet, along with sound technique and beautiful artistry. The communication between the teachers at LDP provides a unique and cohesive training experience for the dancers and ensures that all the teachers are always on the same page.
We have been taking various classes with Ms Halie Walker for about three seasons now and my 6 y/o absolutely ADORES her. She is energetic, patient and so skilled. Leighton is definitely professional and very well organized. We do the shows and it is so much fun to watch and my daughter loves participating.
Very easy to get classes setup and we loved the idea of a trial run before signing up. So glad we signed our girls up here and the teachers and front desk employees were very patient and helpful. Highly recommend this facility to anyone looking to get their kids into dance.
Your first ballet class at Leighton Dance Project
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
