I signed my daughters up for ballet and tap at LMDS only two days after we moved to Richmond Hill, and it was the best decision we’ve made! They both LOVE their teachers (Miss Lauren & Miss Sarah), and have enjoyed every second of dance class. It’s the highlight of their week.
Our daughter has been attending LMDS for the past year, and has enjoyed it so much. We switched classes midyear due to a family schedule change, so she's been with multiple teachers and they all have been amazing: Mrs. Lauren, Miss Naomi, and Mrs. Sarah M.
My 5 year old daughter is in her first season of dance—taking a ballet/jazz class—and she is having the best time. She can have a hard time focusing and following directions, but Mrs. Lauren and Miss Kiana are so kind and patient with her!
We love Life Moves Dance Studio! The staff is so kind and understanding! And truly talented! Ms Randee and Ms Ashley are so great with my little daughter. We’re in the 2&3 yr old creative movement, it’s so fun, perfect amount of time and the teachers help the students get all their energy out!
Your first ballet class at Life Moves Dance Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
