From the reviews
We went to watch the Nutcracker this weekend at Royce Hall in UCLA and it was amazing!! I love that they didn't try to re-imagine a modernist/contemporary interpretation of Tchaikovsky's ballet and that they stuck to the traditional, rich, beautiful stage setting and props and it was really fantastic.
I went to the Los Angeles ballet nutcracker in 2019 and it was a really amazing production. It was at the Alex theater in Glendale and I got to take a picture with them.
I attended the Los Angeles Ballet performance of Romeo and Juliet on June 4, 2016 at Royce Hall. I was mesmerized by Julia Cinquemani, who played Juliet. I have never experienced a dancer who could express so much emotion in her dancing before. Not only was her dancing beautiful, but I was incredibly moved.
An abundance of athleticism and "sensitivity" of the movement of the human body is seen here. Incredible performances, they will leave you inspired. Creativity at its height and mentally very stimulating. Keep up the extraordinary work.
Your first ballet class at Los Angeles Ballet
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
