What families & students say
“I attribute this to the approach Music and Dance Academy has taken and the wonderful teachers that she’s been working with.”
“My dad took up piano lessons here as a hobby in his elder years, and the staff and his instructor were very welcoming to this non-traditional student.”
“His frequent recitals gave my son and his peers the opportunity to build confidence as they performed among family and friends.”

“There are ample opportunities for growth and development and lots of chances to perform in front of an audience to get their nerves out, if that is a concern.”
“Though I didn’t work with most of them personally, I’m impressed by the Academy’s other instructors, as well, many of whom are at a professional level.”
From the reviews
I have been a parent of the Tucson Music & Dance Academy for over 11 years until we moved out of the state recently. My three children grew up in the Academy, learning dance, piano, vocal, and cello. As a parent, I value highly that the Academy offers flexible schedules and choices of teachers.
The Music and Dance Academy is absolutely fantastic! Our daughter has been dancing at the Academy for several years. We've been so impressed with the high quality teaching and really appreciate the focus on learning and having fun. Our daughter loves it so much she wishes she could take classes every single day.
We love Music and Dance academy. The team of instructors are so knowledgeable and very helpful. We started with music fun time at 3years old and continued with Piano practice and my boy has advanced so much since then.
I took piano lessons at the Music and Dance Academy starting when I was about 11, and I can say my teacher, Ms. Tamara, is one of the best. Her cheerfulness and patient attitude week after week were huge parts of what made my experience so positive.
Your first ballet class at Music & Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
