This the the best place in Westport for Classical Ballet. As a parent who went through a 7 year intense ballet school, I can tell that the professionalism of this place is not comparable to anything I have seen anywhere in Connecticut.
Our children have been attending New Elite Ballet for almost two years, and in that time Ms Diane has accomplished what two prior ballet schools could not. This is not a babysitting environment, here you genuinely feel that you are getting your money’s worth. My children are now beautiful, graceful dancers.
Great place for young people to get to know the great art of ballet from amazing and highly educated teachers. I very much recommend this wonderful ballet school.
I am so happy I found the best ballet school for my daughter this year. After 3 years of different other ballet schools in the area my daughter had no results, no muscle strengths, it was fun time, but nothing more. This year we started The New Elite Ballet Academy.
Your first ballet class at New Elite Ballet Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
