We are ending our third year at this studio, and cannot say enough about the love, support, and commitment of this studio. The forever friendships my daughter has made, confidence , and drive she has show on stage is all due to Tara and her staff.
My daughter is entering her 3rd year at 8 Count. The transformation that I have seen in her dancing is unbelievable. She has improved in every aspect of dance since we came to this studio. The teachers ensure that every student is taught excellent technique.
So thankful for this dance studio and the overall support it has given both of my daughters. The teachers nurture them, inspire them, push them, educate them and above all sincerely care about them as not only dancers, but little ladies. We tried another studio due to closeness to our home.
This is a not only a wonderful studio, but it is full of caring people who treat each other like family. My daughter receives an excellent dance education from caring staff who not only teach her how to dance but also how to be kind, humble, and supportive to her fellow dancers and friends.
Your first ballet class at New Focus Dance Academy- (North)
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
