From the reviews
I began dancing at Nielsen's at the age of 2.5. This is a top-notch studio run by an amazing family!!! They are a HUGE part of the reason I fell in love with dance and now run my own studio. Their drop-and-go policy is not uncommon and, in fact, one that I promote in my studio as well.
We have danced with Nielsen School of Dance for 10 years. It is a family business that has been blessing young lives for many generations. We are grateful for the incredible training our girls receive in dance, the friendships, the respectful environment and the values that are taught.
I personally love a studio that promotes safety of young children and has their independence and dance education as the priority. In todays day , I DO NOT want strangers in the classroom with my child, watching their every move .
My daughter has danced for Nielsens for 3 full years now and has loved every minute of it. We originally started dance because her OT therapist recommended dance for motor planning issues my daughter had. Going into this Jazlyn knew of her struggles and was always so helpful and patient with her.
Your first ballet class at Nielsen School of Dance
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
