Our experience has been top notch. The teachers here are so kind, fun, and very talented. You can tell they have been doing this a long time and are great with kids of all ages.
Our family has been part of this studio for four years now, and it has been a joy to watch our daughter grow here. We started with the Mommy and Me classes and have since moved through several combo classes. While we participate recreationally, the quality of instruction and the environment have been top-tier.
My 11 year old daughter has been going to NorthPointe Dance Academy since she was 3 years old. We started out doing a rec class each year, and the past few years she has participated in several of their company groups. NDA offers a variety of options across different levels of dance.
Northpointe Dance Academy has been nothing short of amazing for my daughter. We came from another studio that was not a good fit when a friend recommended it to us. It was a breath of fresh air to walk into a place that has been so welcoming, kind, and focused on the growth of each dancer.
Your first ballet class at NorthPointe Dance Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
