From the reviews
ODC is not just a dance studio but it is a family. The teachers are amazing and I live for the show in June every year, it’s like a Broadway show! My oldest daughter has danced here for 10 years and my younger daughter for 4 years.
We recently had my daughter's 6th birthday party there. We felt the women there (Alicia- lead, her helper, Tracy-owner) did a spectacular job. They always had smiles on their faces, were super friendly and accommodating and everyone had a great time.
I have danced at Oceanside Dance Center from the age of 3 until I graduated at 18, and I can confidently say it has been an incredible journey. The studio is not just a place to learn dance; it’s a community of amazing friends and family.
So, I have two daughters (10 and 13) my oldest started dancing in Queens when she was 2, then we moved to Long Island. We tried a different dance studio in L.I until we were told so many good things about ODC and the new owner (Tracy Platt) at the time. Well, fast forward 9 incredible years.
Your first ballet class at Oceanside Dance Center Inc
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
