From the reviews
An amazing place full of great instruction. They are professional and true lovers of dance. They teach fundamentals of dance. They genuinely care about each dancer and seeing them to their full potential. Great quality recitals and costumes that are age appropriate. Dance is serious when you walk through those doors.
Great place for kids dance classes in uptown nola. Hassle-free classes that teach the basics and beyond. You can get anything from pointe classes to hip hop. The instructors are caring and professional. The owners run the place like a fine machine and are happy to help with anything customers need.
I love this studio. I go there and the teachers are really nice there are strict and serious but that’s because they want you to get better. I have learned so much and have been so inspired by all there hard work. Love OBDS. They are so nice and you learn a lot.
OBDS is an amazing group of young talented dancers and instructors. I Love the energy, the drive and the dedication they put into their routines and performances. Keep up the great work!!!!
Your first ballet class at Off Broadway Dance Studio
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
