My daughter started dancing here last Fall. She was so excited to get back into dance after 2 years because of the pandemic. She decided to take Beginning Jazz and Musical Theater. I cannot express how thankful we are for this studio and dance family we've been welcomed in to.
Absolutely love OCDC. My daughter does the Bitsy Ballet and son & daughter both do the Tumbling class. The kids absolutely love Mrs. Lisa and have so much fun with her and their friends in their classes. Mrs. Lisa does very well in getting the kids engaged.
My daughters participate in ballet and tumbling at OCDC, and our family is forever thankful for the instruction, encouragement and love they receive at this studio, by students and teachers alike.
Our almost 6year old daughter has been a student with OCDC for going on 3 years now. My girl is a shy, tender hearted little and miss Lisa and staff have been wonderful with her and she has gained so much more confidence it has been beautiful to watch her grow with her dance family by her side!
Your first ballet class at Oregon Coast Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
