Went to an Ultra Beginner Fitness through Dance class here for the first time ever this weekend. It was amazing! It was my first ballet class ever and even though it was fast paced it was still so fun. Everyone was nice and I didn’t feel out of place. The teacher gave a lot of great cues for total beginners.
I’ve been attending Orlando Ballet performances for years and am so proud to support the art of dance in Central Florida. Every season brings something inspiring—whether it’s a timeless classic or bold new work. The talent, passion, and artistry on that stage never fail to move me.
My 10 year old daughter has been attending since she was 2 years. We have enjoyed every year. When it comes to classically trained ballet - OBS school is the top notch. All teachers are very knowledgeable, the administration team are always there to help, and the leaders are inspiring.
Wonderful staff and wonderful classes. I absolutely love going here. The building is very clean and everyone is polite. I attend the adult fitness classes, and they have helped my back so much. I truly enjoy going here. We’re so lucky to have this place in Orlando!
Your first ballet class at Orlando Ballet
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
