From the reviews
Orlando Peña, owner of Ovations, is amazing. He takes the time to know all of his students. He teaches them to take pride in themselves and to work hard to achieve their goals. He teaches poise and strength. With Orlando, it’s not just the dance, it’s the spirit and expression.
My daughter had the good fortune to dance with Orlando Peña for 15 years! Orlando Peña has the ability to see the unique beauty and talent in all who attend his studio. He loves, challenges and nurtures his students. His studio is a friendly environment where everyone is welcome and and treated like family.
What a great opportunity for Tampa! Mr. Orlando provides a professional and healthy class environment for his students. The training he delivers is at the highest level. Mr. Orlando produces an atmosphere where the students will form friendships and bonds with the same passion and drive for dance.
Orlando Pena has been an amazing supportive mentor and teacher to my son over the past five years. My son became so confident and developed his abilities as an actor, dancer and singer because of the wonderful instruction of Orlando. My son advanced to broadway auditions just prior to the pandemic.
Your first ballet class at Ovations Dance Academy of Tampa LLC.
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
