From the reviews
I don't know anything about dance, but I decided to take some adult classes for fun. Michael is an incredible teacher. He's SO patient, and his instructions are clear and easy to follow. I never felt out of place, even as a complete beginner.
Michael Patterson is an excellent instructor. He has helped my daughter’s technic improve so much. The class sizes are small, which we love as it allows our daughter to get very focused instruction. Most importantly, he is so kind and builds up every dancer in his studio.
Our daughter is in her 2nd year of ballet. "Mr. Michael" 😁 is really wonderful with the little kids. She pays better attention to him than she does to her own parents sometimes! 🤣 We couldn't be happier with (or more impressed by) the work he does with these kids. There are many other classes available for all ages.
Highly recommend! My daughter has had the best experience of her dance career at The Patterson School of Ballet. If you have a dancer who wants to excel this is the place!!
Your first ballet class at Patterson School of Ballet, Inc.
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
