From the reviews
If your child wants to learn Ballet, this is the place to go. Suzanne is the owner and a great person. She is truly interested in teaching this skill rather than making money unlike other places I have been to. Her passion for Ballet is quite obvious and has a keen eye to spot talent. She is very gentle with kids.
My daughter has enjoyed classes at PSB since she was seven years old. She’s 15 now and can’t wait for fall classes to start! The teachers are extremely experienced and great with kids. There is a wide variety of classes that are offered so she can always find something that she loves which also fits her schedule.
My daughter's love Philadelphia Studio Ballet! They do two big beautiful performances every year, the nutcracker and a spring show. Miss suzanne is amazing! She will make sure everyone is included and will always find your child a part! The studio fosters a very warm, friendly environment between the girls.
My daughter started with PSB at age 4 and is now 13 . . . she has loved all of her classes and the opportunity to not only develop as a dancer/performer but also make close friendships with girls who attend other area schools. It truly is her community and a home away from home!
Your first ballet class at Philadelphia Studio Ballet
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
