From the reviews
Pivot has been my family’s second home since it was Gabrielle’s! We have been there for around 13 years now. My older daughter graduated out of the competition program and is now a theatre major in college. My youngest daughter has been attending since the age of 3 and is now 15 on the senior competition team.
I love going to pivot! I have been going there for 5 years and it is the best experience. I have made friends for life that I would have never met outside of dance. I’m learning skills for not just in the studio but in real life. And my coaches always know how to bring me up and pump up the team!
Pivot is a place where I have watched my daughter grow not only in dance but in confidence. This is her safe place. She has built incredible friendships with her dance team and I as a dance mom have built incredible friendships.
When we moved to Texas almost 7 years ago we were looking for a place that felt like a second home. As a former dancer with personal negative experiences I was particular about where and who I felt comfortable sending my daughter to. Fast forward those 7 years and Pivot was exactly the safe place we were looking for.
Your first ballet class at Pivot Performance Arts
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
