This is my family’s second year participating in classes at Premier Academy of the Performing Arts, and we love them. The instructors are wonderful and friendly, and the classes are just the right amount of challenging but still easy for my kids (who are 4 and 3) to learn and grow.
Our little dancer absolutely loves seeing Miss Kara every week! She looks forward to the next class from the moment she leaves! When her older brothers talk about school or activities, she is always quick to add “I go to dance class with Miss Kara!
I have so enjoyed my classes here. I wanted to stay active after retirement and this studio has fit the bill. When you walk in you are greeted by the most helpful lady, Miss Dionne who is so kind and caring. I started with Adult Jazz. Miss Ann is the teacher. She is so patient with me.
Miss Megan is wonderful with the kids, even with my extremely strong willed two year old. We do the "Dance with me" class and have been so pleased. The class is developmentally appropriate and so much fun- I even enjoy participating each week.
Your first ballet class at Premier Academy of the Performing Arts
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
