From the reviews
I went to an adult class that a friend was teaching. My first time here..my first time in a dance studio ever, in fact. So I wanted to give 3 stars, but realizedaybe some of the stuff I wasn't happy about is normalcy for these establishments.
My daughter first me Nikole 8 years ago, hard to believe. She was only 5. Nikole has been a constant in Samantha's life for 8 years. Seeing who my daughter was and who she had yet to become. Nikole is so loved by the dancers and family because she gives her heart and soul to each of student.
Nikole Lachioma and the entire faculty at RDC truly make this studio unlike any other. I started dancing with Nikole when I was just 5 years old, and continued training with her for 12 more years after that.
Inviting.....warm....welcoming.....creative...these are just a couple of words that come to mind when you walk in Rockwell Dance Center. Every dancer regardless of experience immediately becomes family. As a parent looking into a studio, I can never tell who the new student is because everyone is inclusive.
Your first ballet class at Rockwell Dance Center
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
