A wonderful studio for dance, tumbling and gymnastics… (I know they offer more classes even for adults that my daughter isn’t in). But my daughter loves her dance and tumbling coaches and loves being a part of this dance family!!
Royal Academy of Dance is the place where you can bring your kid to have fun while learning dance and gymnastics. All staff and coaches are amazing! My kids love to come and learn new stuff! The place is new and very modern! Good luck in the new competition season I am sure you will do great!
My daughter started training for USGA gymnastics 6 years ago but left the sport after 4 years as a result of its toxic coaching practices that we experienced at two separate gyms in the Chicagoland area.
Hard to find the combination of fantastic training and family-like environment. Love the teachers and it's easy to park in their lot. Check it out for the serious dancer to the casual dance enthusiast.
Your first ballet class at Royal Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
