From the reviews
My daughter went to Seber Method Academy just for an evaluation and we've been there ever since. The owner, Lilla, was able to quickly identify my daughter's areas for improvement and her development over the past year has been eye-opening.
Fantastic studio with a highly qualified staff. Really recommend for anyone who wants to continue pursuing ballet, although they teach other dances as well. The owner is a wonderful person to work with.
Lilla is an angel. She welcomed me as a 19-year-old moving to a new city. Séber Method Academy was the place that made DC feel like home and gave me a sense of community with its uplifting faculty. They were very smart and strategic in the way I was trained, catering to my individual skills and background.
I spent the past 4 days in the wings photographing rehearsals and performances for Seber Method Academy's Winter Concert and I just had to share this thought I had today. These dancers are truly beautiful inside and out.
Your first ballet class at Séber Method Academy
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
