From the reviews
San Diego Danceworks is the best. Our 5 year old daughter has been going there for 2.5 years and we just started our 2.5 year old just a couple months ago. They both love it. I think that is all that really matters, but we have really liked the community and friends we have made since joining her studio.
After my daughter having a bad experience at another studio and taking a year off of dance we found this studio. She has found her light again, she looks forward to every class, she wants to be there every day, and she feels safe and loved.
My Daughter, 3 years old, has been a student at SD Danceworks for 8 months now. This studio is amazing! Ms. Brianna and her team that teach on Saturday mornings are the very best! Highly recommend this studio for your little one who may be interested in dance. Update: 1 year later and we are still here!
San Diego Danceworks is fabulous. It is a small studio with highly-trained, supportive teachers. My daughter has been with Danceworks for 10 years and her joy of dance has blossomed along with her skill and technique. This is a great place for all dancer levels. It has become our home and family.
Your first ballet class at San Diego Danceworks
Nervous about walking into your first class? Almost everyone is — and a good studio expects beginners, whether your dancer is five or you're returning at fifty. Here's what to know. What to wear: comfortable clothes you can move in, with socks or bare feet; a leotard and tights are nice if you have them, but not required, and pointe shoes are years down the road — never day one. What to expect: class usually starts at the barre with slow, simple movements to warm up, then moves to the center — follow along, copy the teacher, and don't worry about getting it "right" the first time. Arrive early: come 10–15 minutes ahead to change, find a spot, and let the teacher know it's a first class so they can keep an eye out. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
